A Polka Wedding | Wedding Invitation
Journalist Gayle Worland and product designer Randy Primozic approached me about designing
an invitation for their wedding, which they decided would be polka themed. They wanted their
wedding to be a fun and participatory event, one where the guests were encouraged to wear
their wildest polka dot attire. Using this, along with the lighted-hearted, quirky personalities
of my aunt and (now) uncle as a starting point, I created a small hardcover hand-made booklet
that functioned not only as an invitation but also as a fun keepsake that people would hang on to
for years to come.

The booklet featured a polka dot fabric and was entirely hand assembled. Gayle and myself did
the copy writing, and both bride and groom as well as Randy's daughter were involved in the
brainstorming process. The end result was a very one-of-a-kind invitation that helped set the
tone for a one-of-a-kind wedding.
